So now I'm getting slightly worried. Mr Bush just announced that USA is going to take humanitarian aid to Georgia with its aircraft and naval forces. This sounds suspiciously like Russia's way of "helping their fellows with tanks and weapons and bombs". Maybe I don't know a shit about this stuff, but is it really necessary to use military for giving humanitarian aid? Doesn't it give a certain signal to Russia? And here I don't mix Russians with Russia, I don't want to generalize, I am sure that there are many many normal Russians who hate war and what their politicians are doing.
Where the hell is the world heading to? Estonian press of course is doing everything in their power to make Estonians panic and when it comes to Russia's intentions then it's easy to make Estonians a bit nervous. Politicians use their good skills for rhetorics (which in my opinion is the biggest way to influence people) by saying that if Georgia's democracy is in danger then Estonia's can be as well..
I do feel sorry for Georgian people who have to suffer by losing their loved ones in the war, losing their homes and maybe their country.. (which I sincerely hope won't happen) I wish everything was as simple as in Active events where nobody has to be afraid of losing someone by war. What a nice world it would be. But I guess a bit naive to think like that. I know it's naive. Maybe people are bad by nature, maybe we like killing each other, getting more power..? No, I don't want to believe that. I can't understand that. Where do they take this right to go there and start "saving" Georgia's Russians by killing Georgians? Why the hell do they think they have a right to take somebody else's life???

Hmm. I don't see how Estonian democracy and well-being could be threatened by the situation. What eventuality could cause this? I mean, Estonia is part of both EU and NATO. There is no way Russia is ever going to dare to touch you. But does Russia perhaps hold a similar grudge to Estonia for tearing out of old Sovjet, as they seemingly do to Georgia?
War will never end, but it to me in times like this feels good to be part of a big organisation like Active that fights for friendship and peace, and wich really suceeds in creating, at least, very much friendship even internationaly. I actually feel proud to be part of it, and i seldomly feel proud about anything, really.
Well, Russia explained they're attack to Georgia with something like "to protect Russian citizens life in Georgia, we had to attack them". Which to me sounds totally ridiculous as an excuse. But, our politicians say now that if Russia attacks countries with lots of russians living in them with this kind of excuse, then no country is safe. Since in Estonia there are like 1/3 of the population Russians, then Estonians got scared as well..
I personally think it was a bit over exaggerated, but well... And the other thing, in my opinion, being in EU and NATO doesn't guarantee us safety, because Europe depends on Russia in so many ways (especially gas) and EU and NATO would be really careful to protect one small country against huge and powerful Russia. But that's just my humble opinion..:) I don't care for politics that much actually, but some things just piss me off sometimes:)
