Was Re-Independence day in Estonia. It was a nice day. It helped me forget my problems even if it was just for 24 hours.
It started by watching Night Singing Festival from TV with Janeli. We watched it until 3 a.m. As maybe some of you know (and here I'm talking about my non-Estonian friends), Estonia had a Singing Revolution in the end of 80's where 300 000 people sang forbbidden patriotic songs. In the night of 19th-20th August this year, Estonians tried to re-organize this Night Singing Festival and they succeeded. More than 100 000 people gathered in Tallinn to celebrate our Independence Day. I couldn't go there, but even watching it from the TV was just amazing.

To me our Singing Revolution and the Baltic Chain show how it is possible to fight without violence. It is possible.
2oth August continued by a looong breakfast until 13 o'clock with my roommate. Then some ice-cream shopping and then making waffles. Yummy:) And finally watching the movie made by americans "Singing Revolution". It's in English mostly so all foreigners can watch it if they want to know more about revolution can be made by singing:)

I'm quite ashamed that I've never heard of the singing revolution of Estonia. I have read up on it, however, and written about it in my blog. Estonians should be proud. :)
